Can anyone help with the settings that need to change, when you copy your live site to a local xampp implementation? I had heaps of backups on my laptop last year, but a couple of weeks ago wiped my laptop of vista, and went back to xp, as it was running reallllllllllly slowly. I just found out today, that i had only backed up my design folder, and not the include folder, so i can't check how the settings are supposed to be, locally. Even downloaded phpfox2 but its too different. I'll paste the current contents, but basically each time i try and access my site normally (localhost/mysite), it just redirects to the localhost/xampp page. I have other sites installed locally from last week - phpfox2 works, and drupal, and other sample test files. So i've just specified the domain wrong.
(normally id google some more, but my laptop is dying and running at 100% cpu, so every word typed is an agony. Aarrggh) $CONF = array; $CONF'db'host' = 'localhost'; $CONF'db'user' = 'root'; $CONF'db'pass' = 'mypassword'; $CONF'db'name' = 'mysite'; $CONF'path' = dirname(dirname(dirname(FILE))).' /'; $CONF'domain' = 'localhost'; $CONF'host' = $CONF'domain'.' /mysite/'; $CONF'http' = '$CONF'https' = '$CONF'rewriteengine' = true; $CONF'pathtranslated' = true. Hi, anyone able to help? My production site is experiencing major problems - somehow files are disappearing from the server, causing core dumps that overload the server, so they disabled me.
I have a local backup, but it's not running under xampp, so i can't debug the problem, until i can bring up the local copy of my site. My laptop is dying - the famous dell xps overheating problem, and i've already regressed back to XP from Vista, so my normal environment isn't there, and I can't cross-reference my usual sample sites. Other php sites are running ok under xampp (ie drupal, test sites), but i can't run my downloaded phpfox site - it just keeps redirecting to the xampp/apache home page, instead of my site. It's probably a simple answer, but I only get around 30 mins of online time before my machine overheats and it needs to cool down for a few hours. Cross fingers chris.
